轉述句
Reported Speech
轉述句就是幫忙表達了別人的想法或意見，常由「第三人稱」起首。在直述句改為轉述句時，一般要將直述句的時態「往前推」。例如本部影片中，有一句 “Some say raising the age to 21 was a success.” 就是由直述句 “Some (people) say, ’ raising the age to 21 is a success.’” 所衍伸出來的。若原本直述句中的動詞是現在式，則轉述句中就會是過去式，依此類推。如果直述句的內容對現在來說依然是如此，就不改變時態。以下例句中，第一個為直述句，對應的第二個則為轉述句。
### 例句
- "I am playing with my cats", he said. vs. He said (that) he was playing with his cats.
他說：「我當時正在和我的貓玩」。與 他說他當時正在跟他的貓玩。
- They complained, "We're not happy with the services." vs. They complained (that) they were not happy with the services.
他們抱怨道：「我們對服務不是很滿意」。與 他們抱怨他們對服務不是很滿意。
- She told me, "I was living in London." vs. She told me (that) she had been living in London.
她曾告訴我說：「我以前住在倫敦一陣子過」。與 她曾告訴我她以前住在倫敦一陣子過。
