名詞子句

Noun Clause

「名詞子句」是指能扮演名詞角色的子句，可以做為主詞、補語、受詞使用，由 that, if, whether, where, when, how 等等開頭，如本課的例句 I don’t know why I said it. 其中以 why 開頭的名詞子句 why I said it ，並不是講者提出疑問，想問觀眾「為什麼？」，而是說明「我那麼說的『原因』」。另外一句 That’s how I got to this freedom of expression. 其中以 how 開頭的名詞子句 how I got to this freedom of expression，也不是講者要問觀眾「如何？」，而是說明「我到達這種表達自由的境界的方式」。我們來看看更多名詞子句的例子：
